Some years ago, my son Josiah and I met Tommy Roe when he was performing at an auto show in Black Duck, Minnesota and talked to him for the better part of an afternoon. You couldn't meet someone more personable and down to earth; it was one of those days i'll never forget. He mentioned he was about the same age as Josiah when he wrote 'Sheila', and that originally it was called Frieda, but Sheila just flowed better.
