Another day is at end
C               Bb     F
Mama says she's tired again
           C             Bb       C
No one can even begin to tell her

F        C            Bb
I hardly know what to say
C              Bb          F
But maybe it's better that way
             C                  Bb       C
If papa were here I'm sure he'd tell her

F          C                 F               Bb
Shannon is gone I hope she's drifting out to sea
F          Bb             C
She always loved to swim away
F            C              F            Bb
Maybe she'll find an island with a shady tree
F             Bb             F
Just like the one in our backyard

F          C          Bb
Mama tries hard to pretend
C               Bb      F
Things will get better again
         C                Bb      C
Somehow she's keeping it all inside her

    F           C              Bb
But finally the tears fill our eyes
C               Bb          F
And I know that somewhere tonight
              C              Bb       C
She knows how much we really miss her

F          C                 F               Bb
Shannon is gone I hope she's drifting out to sea
F          Bb             C
She always loved to swim away
F            C              F            Bb
Maybe she'll find an island with a shady tree
F             Bb             F
Just like the one in our backyard

              Bb             F
Just like the one in our backyard

The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)

written by Ross Bagdasarian, Sr. (a.k.a. David Seville) in 1958. Although it was written and sung by Bagdasarian (in the form of a high-pitched chipmunk voice), the singing credits are given to The Chipmunks, a fictitious singing group consisting of three chipmunks by the names of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. The song won three Grammy Awards in 1958: Best Comedy Performance, Best Children's Recording, and Best Engineered Record (non-classical).

G                   G6            D7
Christmas, Christmas time is near,
                                G6
Time for toys and time for cheer.
Am7                D7         Am7         D7
We’ve been good, but we can’t last,
Am7       D7             G      G6
Hurry, Christmas, hurry fast!

G           G6              G              G6
Want a plane that loops the loop;
G7                  C
Me, I want a hula hoop.
C            Cm       G              E7
We can hardly stand the wait,
              Am7            D7          G
Please Christmas, don’t be late.
